This popular 5 week course integrates evidence-based yoga and therapeutic approaches, and is taking place online.
Each session starts with a yoga practice to calm body, mind and reduce hyper-vigilance.
The second part of each session focuses on learning about anxiety, ‘what works’ to reduce it and how to sustain change in your life.
You will learn about physical and psychological aspects of anxiety, ‘fight, flight and freeze responses’, the vicious cycle of anxiety including avoidance and survival strategies, why it is so difficult to stop worrying when experiencing anxiety, challenging negative thoughts, graded exposure and helpful coping strategies.
No experience of yoga is needed for this course and you do not need to be flexible! The yoga sequences will be suitable for total beginners and aim to provide you with a sense of safety, space and release.
The course will run online on 5 consecutive Thursdays starting on 10 September from 18.45 to 20.00 via Zoom. Recordings of sessions will be available for one week after each session so you can revisit the content. Questions and answers at the end of each session will not be recorded to ensure participants’ privacy.
You will need to wear comfortable clothes that you can move in; tracksuit bottoms or leggings and a T-shirt are ideal. It is recommended that you have a yoga mat, a cushion or pillow and a blanket to hand for each session for your comfort.
The course is £49.99. Places are limited so early booking is advised. To book your place, click on the link below.
